State Senator Mark Walker served in the Illinois General Assembly from 2009 to 2011, and again from 2019 through April 2024 representing the 53rd House District. As senator of the 27th District, he brings a commitment to improving his community and helping those in need.

A Vietnam veteran, Walker is a dedicated advocate for veterans and service members and has volunteered much of his civic life to helping those experiencing homelessness.

Walker is the former chairman of the Arlington Heights Veterans Committee, a former board member of the Arlington Heights Park District Foundation, and a former board member and treasurer for Journeys The Road Home, a local homeless resource center.

Having had a successful career as a financial industry executive, entrepreneur and management consultant, Walker has focused on small business reforms and legislation improving and expanding Illinois’ diverse and innovative economy. With Illinois’ strength driving his vision, Walker remains committed to building on the state’s economic potential within the 27th District and throughout the state.
