Walker encourages residents to give blood at July 11 event

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — To help build up the state’s blood supply amid the busy summer season, State Senator Mark Walker is hosting a blood drive on July 11 with State Representative Nicolle Grasse and Cook County Commissioner Maggie Trevor.

“Blood donations are vital for accident victims, cancer patients, individuals undergoing surgeries and many others,” said Walker (D-Arlington Heights). “Blood supplies can dwindle as our calendars fill up during the summer months. I encourage those who can to take the time to donate — each donation helps save three lives.”

The blood drive will be held Thursday, July 11 from 1-5 p.m. at Pioneer Park Community Center, 500 S. Fernandez Ave. in Arlington Heights. Interested individuals should sign up for an appointment at bit.ly/WalkerBloodDrive and plan to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – State Senator Mark Walker is inviting 27th District residents to attend an upcoming town hall to learn about recent legislation and state budget investments.

“Town halls provide an opportunity to learn about legislation and investments that will have local impact,” said Walker (D-Arlington Heights). “I look forward to engaging with residents at these events and hearing about the issues that matter most to our community.”

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and speak with their state legislators. The town halls will be held on the following days:

• Wednesday, July 10, 6 p.m. at Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., with State Representatives Mary Beth Canty and Nicolle Grasse
• Thursday, July 11, 7 p.m. at Rolling Meadows Park District, 3000 Central Road, with State Representative Nicolle Grasse
• Thursday, July 18, 7 p.m. at Prospect Heights Public Library, 12 N. Elm St., with State Representative Mary Beth Canty

Walker to host legislative town hall in Mount Prospect

MOUNT PROSPECT – State Senator Mark Walker and State Representative Nicolle Grasse are inviting residents to join them for a legislative town hall on Wednesday, June 26 at the Mount Prospect Public Library.

“Town halls are a great opportunity to share information and foster open dialogue,” said Walker (D-Arlington Heights). “I always enjoy speaking with residents to hear their concerns and sharing how our work in Springfield will have a positive local impact.”

The town hall will be held at 7 p.m. in the library at 10 S. Emerson St. in Mount Prospect. Attendees can expect to hear updates regarding recent legislation and state budget investments, as well as have an opportunity to ask questions and speak with their newly seated elected officials.

Walker announces $141 million in infrastructure improvements for local communities

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – Building upon the smart infrastructure investments supported by State Senator Mark Walker, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced an investment of over $141 million in road and bridge improvement projects across Arlington Heights, Palatine, Prospect Heights and Rolling Meadows.

“Rebuild Illinois underscores our commitment to revitalizing our state’s roads and transit systems, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for residents and visitors alike,” said Walker (D-Arlington Heights). “Communities across the Northwest Suburbs will all experience the benefits of these projects.”

As part of IDOT’s latest Multi-Year Plan under Rebuild Illinois, the district Walker represents will see 15 infrastructure projects totaling more than $141 million next year.
